He is an experienced fisherman with more than 20 years of in-field experience. He grew up north of Chicago and spent his teen years fishing in Lake Michigan and Lake Winnebago.
Following high school, Dale enlisted in the US Navy and served four years as a sonar technician. He was stationed in California and Hawaii. Upon returning home, Dale moved to Birmingham where he worked part-time as a commercial fisherman while completing his degree in marine biology at Samford University.
After he graduated, Dale moved back to Chicago to start a family with his wife Aline. After becoming a father in 2016, he started teaching classes at local bait shops and marinas around Illinois before founding Fishing Refined in 2018.
